Revolutionizing Vestibular-Ocular Reflex Assessment:
EquifHIT is a state-of-the-art Functional Head Impulse Test (fHIT) device designed to transform the assessment of vestibular-ocular reflex (VOR) function. This innovative tool provides clinicians with unparalleled precision and insights into the health of each individual semicircular canal, enabling accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment plans for patients with vestibular disorders.
Unveiling the Technology:
EquifHIT leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver unprecedented accuracy in VOR assessment. The head-mounted device incorporates high-precision 3-axis angular velocity sensors meticulously oriented in the horizontal, LARP (left anterior-right posterior), and RALP (right anterior-left posterior) planes. These sensors precisely measure head rotations, ensuring accurate data collection during the fHIT.
Assessment Methodology:
EquifHIT assesses each of the six semicircular canals individually, a breakthrough in vestibular testing. By presenting optotypes (standard Snellen and Landolt C) at peak head velocity in specific canal planes and directions, the device isolates the function of each canal. The optotype remains hidden until peak velocity is reached and disappears as soon as velocity falls below the optimal range, thanks to precise sensors and sophisticated algorithms. Accurate identification of the optotype signifies intact semicircular canal function in the tested plane and direction.
User-Friendly Interface and Reporting:
EquifHIT prioritizes user experience with a streamlined interface and intuitive reporting. Results are presented as the number of correct responses out of 10 presentations for each canal. Color-coded indicators – green (normal), yellow (borderline), and red (low) – facilitate quick interpretation. Additionally, the device generates automatic reports, summarizing findings for each canal and providing clinicians with a comprehensive overview of VOR function.
Key Advantages of EquifHIT:
User-Friendly: Color-coded results and automatic reporting streamline interpretation and documentation.
